The Introduction: During a Job Interview

The goal from the start of the interview is to turn the interview into a fluid conversation and less of a question and answer session. This will relieve nerves and allow a better/more genuine experience while optimizing the ability to achieve the true goal of the interview.

2) Offer an authentic smile.
3) Make eye contact.
4) Offer a firm handshake.
5) Say the interviewer's name.

These should be second nature, but are worth mentioning as this signular event can drastically alter the course of the interview.

Do Your Research

Prior to the interview, do your homework so you have some appropriate topics that will be engaging as conversation starters.

Both of these tactics you will increase your knowledge base about the person (or people) your meeting with and will help you feel more comfortable and confident.

This is an OPPORTUNITY that the interviewer just handed you to set the direction and tone for the interview.
